Shuennie is a very friendly and welcoming organiser who makes a genuine effort to ensure that everyone feels included, regardless of whether they attend alone or with others. The atmosphere at each event was relaxed, inclusive, and supportive, which made it easy to strike up conversations and connect with neighbours I might not otherwise have met. Importantly, these connections have continued beyond the events themselves — now, when we see neighbours we met through these activities in the lift or in the foyer, we stop to chat, which has noticeably strengthened the sense of community in the building. The Lawn Bowls activities were particularly enjoyable, as they encouraged participation across different age groups and abilities. Overall, the programme clearly achieved its aim of increasing social cohesion. I now feel more connected to people in my building and more comfortable reaching out to neighbours, which is invaluable in an apartment-living environment. I would very much welcome the opportunity to participate in more events in the future.
Shuennie and her team are fantastic at organising events that bring our apartment community together. It's been such a joy to meet the neighbours and make friends, and we couldn't have done it without Shuennie's help! Her dedication and enthusiasm over the years are second to none. I would definitely recommend chatting to High Neighbour if you're looking to build community spirit in your apartment block. Thank you so much, Shuennie!
I can speak highly for all the residents at my apartment complex (that has been through a few trying calamities) for the beautiful meet and greet event hosted by High Neighbour. Not only did it provide an important opportunity for connection, but seemed also beneficial for the children and fur babies also settling in. Shuennie was a wonderful facilitator ensuring everyone felt welcome and creating a memorable event.
We had a great night getting together with other apartment tenants and owners, many we had never seen or met before at 158 Smith Street Collingwood Managed by The Knight OC. Shuennie Loo was fabulous and did a great job having plenty of food and drink and fun. She kept us informed and notified us immediately with a change in meeting location based on the tempurature and expreme heat on the day. Well done and we highly recomment High Neighbour for your next event where neighbours can meet and say hi
From first contact through to the actual event, thank you Shuennie, for being a delight to work with, plus your High Neighbour team, Fraser and Rosh. Such a well-organized event, and now, our community cannot wait until we all meet up again! Edithvale Place sends a big THANKS!
Always great events which Shuennie and her team organise e.g lawn bowls, trivia night, Qi Gong and a great opportunity to interact with neighbours (both old and new). Building community spirit and making friends within my apartment building is made a lot easier via High Neighbour :)
Our program brings people together in shared social gatherings targeted at individual needs and interests, whether it be regular gardening, dog-walking groups, Easter egg hunt, or even a building-wide team corn hole competition!
We asked 125 residents in high-density, city-fringe residential apartment buildings in Melbourne about how connected they feel to their neighbours and other residents in the building.
